International Taekwon-do ITF tournament „Open Riga Cup 2014” was held on 27th september of 2014 at Riga National Sports Hall at Maskavas street 160. Tournament organizer – Latvian Taekwon-do federation.

This tournament collected participants from Russia, Estonia, Finland, Ukraine and Latvia. Competitions was held in following age divisions – Children, Cadets, Juniors and Seniors. Tournament „Open Riga Cup 2014” was held within matrial arts festival „Rīgas rudens 2014” where participated competitors from different martial arts styles. In this martial arts festival, beside our Taekwon-do ITF tournament, was held - Karate, Kickboxing, K-1, Grappling, Bushido, Ju-Jitsu, Knife combat, Sumo and Taekwondo WTF competitions. Also there was held strongman’s „Spēka vīri” tournament.

In overall team rating of Taekwon-do ITF tournament first place with big prevalence won team from Ukraine (sport club „Katran”). The second place, with 1 point prevalence – team from Pskov (Russia), and third place in this tournament took sport club „LTCS” (Latvia).

It should be noted that in this year competition was really high and all competitors demonstrated high level of mastery. Organizing committee would like to thank all our tournament guests - teams from Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Latvia for participating in this tournament. We hope that the tournament contributed improvement of competitors level of mastery and also friendly relashionships strengthening between all teams.
